1954 2/6 Wilding booklet SG F21 Sept 1954. Panes handstamped "CANCELLED" Type 24

!
SG F21 Sept. 1954 2/6 Wilding booklet with ½d, 1½d and 2½d panes handstamped "CANCELLED" Type 24. Tudor Crown watermark. On the 1d pane the three stamps have been removed but the three "PLEASE POST EARLY IN THE DAY" labels remain; the book is otherwise complete with black stitching, stamp panes and advertisments. BPA certificate (2002) states "each stamp handstamped "CANCELLED" (as Type 24) unused with original gum, soiled, perfs of 2½d pane splitting, is genuine".  Not catalogued by SG but believed to be a Post Office Training School Booklet and recorded as such by Colin Langston "A Priced Catalogue and Guide to Collecting the Queen Elizabeth Stamp Booklets" published 1954. Possibly circa 8 exploded copies. Mentioned in "British Stamp Booklets Part 5 series 7" Alexander & Newberry where noted "an exploded booklet is known complete but for the 1d stamps overprinted "CANCELLED" Type 24. This example possibly the only unexploded example remaining.
